GLOW AQUA THERMOCHROMIC ACRYLIC PAINTS

Thermochromic paints are divided into reversible and irreversible types. In the case of the GLOW AQUA series, we offer reversible paints, whose color fades when exposed to heat and then returns to its original shade once cooled. The black thermochromic paint “Hand Touch” fades when touched, the red “Warm Touch” disappears under heat, and the blue “Ice Touch” appears at low temperatures.

With our paints, you can create thermochromic floors that leave visible footprints or walls that locally change color when touched, exposed to ice, or warm air. The thermochromic acrylic paint can be applied to ceramic bathroom or floor tiles, allowing them to change color as the temperature changes. HOW DOES THERMOCHROMIC PAINT WORK?

Thermochromic paints are based on pigments that react to changes in temperature. As the temperature increases, the color changes — it either fades completely or transforms into a different shade. In the reversible version, the color lightens as the temperature rises and returns when it cools down. In the irreversible version, once the target temperature is reached, the color appears and remains visible permanently.

RECOMMENDED USE

APPLICATION

The paint can be applied with a brush, paint roller, sponge, or by using airless spraying. Thermochromic paints have limited intensity and coverage power — the thicker the paint layer, the stronger the color and coverage. We recommend applying several coats — at least two or three — on a clean surface. Apply each subsequent coat at intervals of at least 2 hours.

Before painting, test the paint on a small surface. If you are satisfied with the result, thoroughly clean the target surface before painting. Thermochromic paints do not function as thermometers, as the error range is ±1.5°C. They are sensitive to solvents and exposure to temperatures above 50°C — both factors may weaken the paint’s properties.
